Do you remember the good old days, before computers and gameboys etc, when the ideal Sunday afternoon relaxation for the average male meant a big cardboard box filled with a green felt cloth, 22 little plastic footballers (many sporting horrendous injuries) and a couple of goalposts.
My brother loved his Subutteo. He kept it on top of the wardrobe because that box truly was enormous. What fun he and his friends had flicking those little plastic men in an attempt to get that perfect goal. One minute he'd be scoring a hat trick for Barnsley in the FA cup and half an hour later he'd be hitting the back of the net as England gubbed Germany in the World Cup.
And he let us girls play too - the hours we spent searching for the ball when it rolled under the sideboard cabinet . . . oh, happy days indeed.
