Thanks to budget airlines, the price of air travel has never been lower.
Unfortunately however, the excess baggage charges have never been higher - for example, EasyJet currently charge £7 for every kilo a suitcase is over the allowance and Ryanair charge £12 for every extra kilo. At those prices it would only take a few kilos and the excess baggage charge could end up costing more than the flights!
So what can we do?
My other half thinks he can estimate the weight to within a kilo - but he has been known to be (badly!) wrong.
